Thomas Clan Update

For starters we have won our battle with USCIS a.k.a immigration…Pesta has been changed to Desta! Thank you Congressmen Flake! After months and months of getting the run around we sought the help of our Congressmen and with in 2 months the problem was dealt with….we are so grateful! Now we can start the process of re-adoption in AZ, making Garrett not only Garrett Desta Thomas, but also a citizen of the USA! Lets just say the adoption process is a LONG one! But we are excited to see the finish line.

Scott is back to coaching, which is exciting for him but makes our already hectic schedules even more insane. School is going well, but I am definetely feeling the pressure. I have a meeting on Wed. to figure out my last year of classes, and to be placed for my practicum hours! I am truthfully really nervous….I shouldn’t be I have been in school now for almost 6 years, but the thought of actually working with precious lives kind of freaks me out!

Reagan is doing great! I can’t believe in a few short months she will be 3. She is all about clothes, whether it be dressing herself or playing dress up. Most days she sport a tutu over her pants and insists on wearing her plastic pink heals! I am not the most girly girl but I love that she is….its so darn cute!

Garrett is 20 months; we are having fun tossing ideas around about his 1st birthday with us….any ideas? He is like a totally new kid now that he has tubes in his ears, he can say like 20 words now! Such an improvement from the grunts he did pre-tubes. And he can run now….it may sound funny but these are huge milestones for our little man!

President Obama

Scott got an amazing opportunity to represent Red Mountain High School at Obama's speech today.
He was like a kid at Disneyland!  Here are a few shots of the President and Scott  enjoying his political high!

Tips

In case you are interested……

Julie posted about waste not want not, so I thought I would give a few of my tips on wasting less and doing more to help the environment.

Using towels instead of paper: I got a bunch small white towels that we use for everything, from cleaning up the kids to cleaning the house. I just bleach them once a week and reuse them.

I make my own cleaning products (I turned into a tree hugger I know!)

All purpose cleaner: 1 part vinegar to 1 part water and 8 drops of lemon essential oil.
(I put it in a spray bottle for easy use)

Toilet cleaner: Sprinkle baking soda around the edge of the toilet bowl and then add 1
Cup of vinegar. It foams up then just scrub as usual!

Floor cleaner: 2 parts water to 1 part vinegar. And mop away!

Glass cleaner: On a damp rag (old cloth diapers work the best) pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol and clean mirrors or any class surface…..I think it works better than Windex!

• They sell essential oil at sprouts and trader Joes.
• The vinegar smell is only there until the surface dries then it absorbs any odors on the surface and goes away, so your house will smell like vinegar for maybe and hour at the most then it will smell like whatever essential oil you mixed in your cleaner.

I also use cloth diapers….It took some getting used to but now I love it! I don’t have to buy diapers and I really like knowing that I am not putting thousands of diapers in the landfill. If your interested let me know and I can just send you info. Its a lot to post.

If you thought the pink shoes were bad....

They love to play dress up.....and Garrett loves to do everything just like his big sister!
So fairy wings on a boy is the end result!

*Scott would like to add that Garrett does have truck and boy toys*
